Are You Interested in Fostering in Burnley?
Have you ever considered a career as a foster carer and live in or around Burnley?
At Lorimer Fostering we have been supporting foster carers in England for over 15 years and as one of the most well established and experienced independent fostering agencies, we would love for you to join our family! At Lorimer Fostering, we are looking for foster carers in Burnley to transform children’s lives and help shape their futures for the better.
Fostering isn’t simply putting a roof over a child’s head, it is about giving them a loving home and a brighter future. There are a number of reasons why a parent may be unable to look after their child; such as illness or hospital admission, going abroad for lengthy periods, a breakdown in relationships or it may be that the child or young person is at significant risk of harm and needs emergency foster care. Whatever their circumstance, these children rely on the support and commitment of our foster carers who can offer them a secure and loving home.
How Do I Become a Foster Carer in Burnley?

We can discuss you and any questions you may have regarding the fostering process. If you are still interested in going ahead, then you and your family will get the chance to meet with a social worker. They will then make the decision of whether or not you are a suitable candidate for fostering.
Who Can Foster?

All that we ask is that you have a commitment to care, a big heart and a spare bedroom.
Here are a few of the key criteria needed in order for you to become a foster carer:
- You are over the age of 21
- There is a spare room in your home
- You hold a deep sense of commitment to helping others
Why is Fostering in Burnley Essential?
Young people going into foster care need as understanding and as stable an environment as possible. For this reason, wherever possible, we want to ensure a child gets to stay in the same school and that they are not made to move too far away from their family home. As such, having reliable and caring foster carers in the Burnley area is vital to ensure this happens as often as possible.
What is the Burnley Fostering Allowance?
As a diverse and interesting career path, fostering in itself is a huge reward. However, you will also receive an additional weekly allowance of £400 to ensure that all of your hard work and dedication is rewarded. For each additional child in your household, there is also an additional £355 thereafter. Holidays, special occasions such as birthdays and clothing allowances are also rewarded when required.
