Lorimer - At the heart of fostering

Are You Interested in joining a Cheshire Fostering Agency?

Have you ever considered fostering in Cheshire but not sure where to start or whether you have what it takes? You may think being a foster carer requires having extra special qualities. If you are special in the eyes of the young person in your care and can provide them with a loving, caring and secure environment then you have what it takes!

With a new child coming into care every 22 minutes, foster carers are urgently needed, especially in Cheshire. Whether you live in Ellesmere Port, Nantwich, Warrington or Crewe – caring for children and young people in your local area can help make a huge difference to a young person’s life. From Dunham Park to Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium, Lorimer Fostering are looking for the right people to make a lasting difference to children and young people in Cheshire.

How Do I Become a Foster Carer in Cheshire?

If you are interested in becoming a foster carer in the Cheshire area, then the next step is to simply get in touch with a member of our team here at Lorimer Fostering. We will have an informal chat with you and answer any questions you may have about the overall fostering process. This is also an opportunity for us to tell you more about ourselves and the process of fostering here at Lorimer. Should you still be interested in going ahead you will then be visited by a social care worker. They will then make the decision of whether or not you are a suitable candidate for fostering.

Who Can Foster in Cheshire?

Whether it be on a temporary basis or for a longer period of time, every child is entitled to a loving family and a warm and safe environment. In the UK alone, nearly 10,000 foster carers are still urgently needed. Lorimer Fostering is looking to find the right people to make up the shortfall so that children find a foster home in their hometown without having to move away.

Criteria for being able to offer this environment to a foster child in need include:

  • Over 21
  • Your home has a spare room
  • You and your family have a commitment to helping others

What is the Cheshire Fostering Allowance?

Like anywhere, fostering has its challenges, but it is hugely rewarding, both emotionally and financially. Lorimer Fostering is dedicated to ensuring you receive the support and allowances you are entitled to. That is why for every child you take into your care you will receive £400, then £355 for every subsequent child thereafter. We also provide adequate stipends for special times of the year, including Christmas and birthdays.
