About Lorimer Fostering
At Lorimer Fostering we recruit, train and support families who wish to become foster carers and provide comprehensive support to enable you to carry out your vital role to a high standard. As a professional foster carer for Lorimer, you will receive a financial package (from £20,000 to £60,000 per year, depending on the number of placements), regular visits from a Social Worker and form part of a team of people working closely to provide the best for the child or children in your care.
What is Fostering?
Fostering provides homes for children who are temporarily or permanently unable to live with their own families but who may wish to maintain contact. Fostering may provide respite care or shared care for children with disabilities. Support is provided for the children, the foster carers and the family of the fostered children.
Who Can Be a Foster Carer?
Are you energetic, flexible, patient and understanding? Do you have the time to invest in a child or young person in Pendle? Do you have a bedroom to spare? Then fostering could be the career path for you! There are many reasons why people choose to become a foster carer, however the main incentive has to be the chance to make a positive contribution to the life of a child or young person in care. That in itself is a huge reward.
Children come into care for all sorts of reasons and have often had difficult life experiences. Every child is unique, coming from diverse backgrounds but what they all do have in common is the need for love, guidance, stability and your understanding. They need time to heal, to make sense of their situation and ultimately feel valued. At Lorimer Fostering we will work hard to find the best placement to suit the foster child and also you and your family. Like the children in our care, we need foster carers from various backgrounds with different experiences and skills to match the children and their individual needs!
