Meet our Marketing Officer Beth

When you come across a social media post from Lorimer Fostering, read one of our newsletters, or find an article on our website, there’s a good chance that Beth is the person behind it. As Lorimer’s Marketing Officer, Beth is responsible for making sure our community feels connected, supported, and informed. Whether you’re already fostering with us or just starting to explore what fostering could mean for you.

We sat down with Beth to find out more about her role, what she loves about working at Lorimer, and why marketing is such an important part of fostering.

A Day in the Life

“No two days are ever the same,” Beth says with a smile. “One day I might be designing graphics for our social channels. The next I’m writing a blog to support carers through exam results season or planning a campaign to encourage more people to consider fostering. There’s always something new to focus on, which keeps things exciting.”

Beth’s role is all about communication. She manages Lorimer’s online presence, creates printed materials, and ensures that our message is consistent, clear, and compassionate. Her work helps us celebrate the successes of our carers, highlight the achievements of children and young people, and raise awareness of the need for more foster families in the North West.

Why Marketing Matters in Fostering

Marketing in fostering isn’t about flashy adverts or big sales pitches – it’s about building trust and community. Beth explains:

“People often come across fostering online or hear about it from a friend, and that first impression is really important. My role is to make sure that when people find Lorimer, they feel welcomed and reassured. I want them to see that we’re a supportive, family-focused agency who will be by their side every step of the way.”

Beth’s work is also about giving carers the tools and resources they need. From practical guides and wellbeing articles to celebrating milestones and sharing events. She ensures that every communication reflects Lorimer’s values of compassion, respect, and belonging.

Building Connections

One of Beth’s favourite parts of being Lorimer’s Marketing Officer, is hearing directly from foster carers and young people.

“I love sharing real stories,” she says. “When carers tell us about their experiences – the ups, the challenges, the funny moments – it reminds me why the work we do matters. Fostering is about people, and being able to give our community a voice is something I’m really proud of.”

Looking Ahead

As the world of digital marketing continues to evolve, Beth is always looking for fresh ways to reach people. Whether it’s experimenting with video content or building interactive resources, her goal is to make fostering information as accessible and engaging as possible.

“At the end of the day, everything I do comes back to one question: how can we help children and carers feel supported? If a post, blog, or leaflet makes someone feel more confident about fostering, then I know I’ve done my job.”

Final Thoughts

Beth’s role as Marketing Officer might be behind the scenes, but her impact is felt across the entire Lorimer community. Through her creativity, compassion, and communication, she helps us stay connected, raise awareness, and celebrate the incredible work of our foster carers.

So next time you see a Lorimer post pop up in your feed or read a new article on our website, you’ll know that Beth is the friendly voice making sure you feel part of our fostering family.
