Who we are:

Lorimer Foster Services (Trading as Lorimer Fostering) are an Independent Fostering Agency striving to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people. Our office is based in Sale, Manchester servicing the North West region.

 

When do we collect personal information from you?

We collect information from you visit our website, when you wish to enquire further about becoming a foster carer or you download our company brochure. We would also collect information from you if you leave a comment on one of our blog posts.

 

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our website?

We only collect personal data from you with your consent and for the purpose intended. This information includes:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (only if you would like us to call you back)
  • Home address (only if you would like us to send you a brochure)
  • Comments (you have the choice to type freely in this field should you wish, i.e. specific questions relating to fostering)
  • Your IP address (by way of cookies, see below for more information)

We will never collect any sensitive data from you unless you choose to put this within the comments section.

The information is processed under the lawful basis of consent.

 

How do we use your information?

The information we collect from you will be used in the following ways:

  • To improve our website in order to better serve you, by way of cookies
  • To allow us to respond to your enquiry about becoming a potential foster carer
  • To send you communications, should you choose to, that may be of interest to you. These may include information about campaigns, general fostering news and news about Lorimer Fostering.
  • For non-identifiable statistical reporting purposes.

Other fostering services 

Should you ever pursue being a foster carer with any other agency they will need to contact us for a reference, as per the Fostering Regulations 2011. At enquiry stage we can only ever confirm the following:

  • That you enquired with our agency
  • What date this was
  • Why the enquiry was closed

 

 Third-party disclosure

We use third-party website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when it’s release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety.

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Secure members area

Only our current foster carers will receive access to a private account. Upon approval of a Form F Assessment they will be provided with a username and password with which they can access the following:

  • Company policies and procedures
  • Assessment documentation
  • Templates needed to help carry out their day to day duties
  • Access to our training calendar where they can book on future training courses
  • A resource page containing links to third party websites they may find useful. Please note that once you have clicked a link to another website then this privacy policy is no longer in use. Please ensure that you familiarize yourself with the new websites privacy policy at this point.

Should you be given access to this secure section then please ensure that your username and passwords remain confidential and never share these with a third party.

 

Your choice

You have a choice as to whether or not you would like to receive future information from us.  Where we ask for personal information there will be opt-in boxes and should you wish to receive future direct email marketing from us to relating to fostering and the work Lorimer are doing then please tick the box. If you do not wish to hear from us then please leave this unticked.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you so not wish to be contacted this way.

 

How can you access and update your personal information?

The accuracy of your information is vital.
