Supervising Social Worker

Hi, I’m Gareth and I’m a social worker with Lorimer. I specialise in recruiting and assessing new fostering families and supporting those already approved to foster. I’ve been a social worker for all of my working life and for the vast majority of that time I’ve worked in fostering. I’ve worked in a wide variety of different roles, both with Independent Fostering Services such as Lorimer and also with Local Authorities.

Fostering has always been my passion and I particularly enjoy watching the way that children and young people grow and develop in confidence when they find the right family for them. I believe that the commitment that is required from foster carers is second to none and I’ll always do my best to give you the support that you need at the times when you need it most!

In my personal time, I enjoy being a Dad and all of the activities that entails! When I’m not on Dad duties then I love to travel and I also enjoy most sports – more so watching and coaching nowadays rather than actually playing.
