Lorimer Fostering is an Independent Fostering Agency who have been providing fostering services in Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire and the North West of England for over 15 years. Our dedicated and friendly team of professionals ensure that children in temporary and permanent care achieve their full potential and live enriched and rewarding lives. As there are currently more than 76,000 children in care across the UK, we are looking for foster carers in Fylde to help us achieve this.

WHO CAN FOSTER?

- Be over 21
- Have a spare room in your home
- You are committed to helping others
If you are currently experiencing an empty nest, then becoming a foster carer can be one of the best ways to fill this space and give back to your community in the best way whilst doing so.
HOW MUCH IS THE FYLDE FOSTERING ALLOWANCE?
You are there to help the child or young person in your care to feel safe, secure and valued. And at Lorimer Fostering Fylde, we are here to do the same for you! When you choose to join Lorimer you’ll receive a generous financial package, around the clock support and links to fantastic support networks. You can expect to receive anything from £20,000 to £60,000 per year in professional fees and allowances (depending on the number of placements you have) and will also benefit from 2 weeks respite/holiday pay and a separate allowance for birthdays and Christmas.

WHAT SUPPORT WILL I RECEIVE?
Fostering is a very rewarding career and can enrich and enhance your whole family’s experiences. However, being a foster carer can also present you with new challenges and can at times be very demanding. Some children and young people can express their feelings through difficult behaviour and may reject your care or become withdrawn. As a foster carer, it is important that you understand that this is not a reflection on you.
At Lorimer Fostering we understand the challenges you may face and we endeavour to provide foster carers with the guidance and support needed to make sure the placement is as successful as possible for both you and the foster child. This includes full training, support groups, 24-hour support lines and a close partnership with the local Fylde Council.
