Could You Foster For Lorimer?

During this years’ Foster Care Fortnight™, the team at Lorimer Fostering will be helping to raise awareness of the need for more foster carers, particularly in the Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire areas. Could you be the next Lorimer foster carer?

For those who do not already know, Foster Care Fortnight is a two-week campaign ran by The Fostering Network charity. It is the UK’s biggest awareness raising campaign for foster care, and each year both independent fostering agencies and local authorities help to support it. For almost 20 years, the campaign has helped to highlight the urgent requirement for more potential foster families to come forward, as well as displaying the commitment, passion and dedication of current foster carers.

Recent statistics show that a further 8,100 foster families need to be approved across the UK over the next 12 months to ensure the needs of young people in care are met. This includes a particular need for more foster carers to look after sibling groups and teenagers.

Why Choose Us?

Here at Lorimer we take pride in ensuring our foster carers are well looked after and supported with both our support services and our foster care pay allowance. We understand that being a foster carer, no matter how rewarding, can sometimes be a difficult and stressful occupation and we can guarantee that you are not alone, we are always there to guide you.

Our support extends way beyond telling you how much foster parents get paid for their allowance. We want you to be the best carer you can be so we help you in any way we can. See below for some of the many ways we support our foster carers and young people in placement. For more information, you can visit our ‘Support’ page here.
