Christmas is Coming!
The festive period is just around the corner, and we all know what that means; Christmas is coming! We’ve got lots of exciting plans for the next month, read below to find out more.
Christmas Card Competition
We have a long running tradition here at Lorimer, our annual Christmas Card Competition for young people! We are looking forward to receiving this years’ entries and can’t wait to see the creative artwork our children and young people have created.
The competition deadline is Wednesday 30th November 2022, so please be sure to send any Christmas Card entries back to us using the freepost envelope provided by then.

Children’s Activity Days
It’s almost time for our children’s Christmas activity days and this year we will be visiting two fun locations. Some of our young people, Foster Carers and staff will be heading to Gulliver’s World, to watch a Christmas panto and see Santa. Others will be visiting Ninja Warrior UK to take part in an evening indoor adventure obstacle course.
We hope everyone has a great time and enjoys themselves during the Christmas activity days!

A Warm Welcome
This month we are very pleased to say welcome to Zoe and Tony and also welcome to Mindy and John, who all join the Lorimer family as Foster Carers. We can’t wait to share your fostering journey with you.
Lorimer Support Group
We’re hosting the next Lorimer Support Group on Tuesday 29th November and all of our fab carers are invited! Come along to our office in Sale to meet fostering friends for mince pies.
There will be a little themed discussion on ‘Behaviour Management Tips’ which we would love you to get involved in.

Childline
2 children every minute are expected to contact the NSPCC’s Childline over the Christmas period. Sadly, by the time you have finished reading this sentence; a child will have contacted Childline.
The NSPCC work tirelessly to make sure they’re there for all children every day. Even Christmas Day.

Team Goodbyes
In December team Lorimer will say a very sad goodbye to long-standing team members Ash and Angela. Both Ash and Angela have been hugely important in developing Lorimer over the years and will be missed by everyone here.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for everything they have done; and wish them all the very best in their futures!
