Lorimer Fostering are seeking an experienced social work manager with significant expertise in fostering and exceptional analytical and report writing skills to work as our Fostering Reviewing Officer on an Independent basis.
The role is to undertake Foster Carer Reviews at our office in Sale, Manchester (M33 5ND). We expect 35 to 40 such Foster Carer Reviews per year. The dates/times are arranged months in advance in consultation with yourself and as such there is flexibility on days/times worked (usually on a Tuesday or Thursday).
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate as the role is integral to the operation of the agency.
ABOUT YOU
You will have a recognised and accredited Social Work qualification and valid Social Work England registration.
In-depth experience of working within a fostering service for young people is required as is having extensive knowledge of the relevant legislation.
You will also be exceptional at social work analysis and report writing; both in terms of content and presentation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will review Foster Carer Reviews clearly, methodically and safely. You will make recommendations to the agency on required actions and improvements.

THE PACKAGE
- £150 per Foster Carer Review
- Travel time, mileage and all other costs are included in the £150 per Foster Carer Review fee
- Additional work outwith the Foster Carer Review process is paid at £35 per hour.
