Lorimer Fostering are currently seeking a fostering services experienced, enthusiastic, energetic and social work qualified Fostering Reviewing Officer to join our established fostering team on an Independent basis. The position is based on the requirement to chair Foster Carer Reviews on a needs-led basis. We expect there to be about 35-40 such Reviews over a 12 month rolling period.

About You

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, understanding, very highly organised with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be confident and self-motivated with a flexible approach. You will have the ability to use your own initiative and prioritise your workload effectively. And you will have very strong IT skills. Equally important is the ability to learn new processes effectively and very quickly. The Reviews will be in person at our office in Sale, Manchester (M33 5ND). The specific dates are organised a year in advance (in consulation with yourself and as such there is flexibility on the dates and times of each Review).

You will need to be a qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.

The Package

  • £150 per Foster Carer Review
  • Travel time, mileage and all other costs are included in the £150 per Foster Carer Review fee
  • Additional work outwith the Foster Carer Review process is paid at £30 per hour.
