About Us
Lorimer Fostering is a well-established Independent Fostering Agency based in Manchester. We’ve been placing vulnerable children and young people with loving foster families across the North West for over 15 years now, changing hundreds of lives along the way.
Lorimer continually put the children and young people at the heart of our agency. We work closely with local authorities to provide safe and stable homes for young people to grow up in, helping them realise their potential.
We follow a safe recruitment policy and as such, every successful applicant will be subject to a robust application process which involves a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check which is payable by Lorimer.
About the Role (Sessional Support Worker)
Lorimer are looking to recruit a bank of Sessional Support Workers across the North West to help support the young people we have in our care. We require a flexible approach to the hours and days that you may need to work. There is no guarantee to the number of hours of allocated work per week. You are required to have a full driving license and access to a car, as transport to and from activities is a large part of this role.
As a Sessional Support Worker, you will work with our children and young people in placement, taking them on activities, encouraging them to gain confidence and improve their self-esteem thus allowing them to thrive and reach their full potential. As part of this role, you will produce and maintain accurate recordings of sessions completed.
You will develop an effective working relationship with other professionals involved with the children and young people including contributing to any ongoing assessments relating to their needs. You will also assist the Foster Carers in developing strategies to manage the behaviours of any challenging children and young people in placement.
About You
You will be motivated, flexible and passionate about working with children and young people; and you will have effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels. You will be committed to your own development by attending training and regular supervision sessions with your Line Manager.
Experience of working with children and young people is desirable.
